Dialogue Design

Powerful software-intensive application systems are often complex and demand considerable learning of users. The hidden cost for training is high and in most cases considerably higher than the purchase price for hardware and software. Dialogue design is carried out with the objective to optimise complex applications in a holistic manner for the tasks and preferences of the users.

Optimised dialogues have the following advantages

  • for users:

  •
    • improved performance
    • reduced learning cost
    • reduced workload
    • fewer errors

    •
  • for the producers of applications:

  •
    • competitive advantage
    • reduced support cost
    • extended product lifetime
    • positive quality image

The user can directly perceive only the buttons, windows, menus, and other display and control elements of a dialogue system. The dialogue structure is abstract and not directly observable and assessable.

We have many years of experience in the development of dialogue systems where highest quality for the user is the primary objective. Our core competence is the development and optimisation of demanding user interfaces. This includes concept development, requirements analysis, prototyping, evaluation and design from a holistic perspective which observes technical, economic and user requirements. In purchasing projects it can often be valuable to compare the user quality of products in a benchmarking study. Take advantage of our experience!
